Our Commitment to Sustainability
Sustainability is the foundation of everything we do. Our two eco-certified cabins, built from recycled shipping containers, run on solar power and solar hot water, use filtered rainwater, and are surrounded by native plantings that support local wildlife. Wastewater is treated naturally onsite through reed beds and absorption trenches, creating a closed-loop system that protects Goolmangar Creek.
Key initiatives:
-
Solar power and solar hot water systems
-
Closed-loop greywater treatment supporting 350m of creekbank regeneration
-
Over 1,500 native trees planted, including 1,000 in our riparian zone
-
Nesting boxes for microbats, kookaburras, and parrots
-
Comprehensive waste management with composting, recycling, and a 50% bin reduction
-
No single-use plastics; refillable toiletries and bamboo toothbrushes
-
Printed Fauna Guides featuring Bundjalung animal names
We track water, waste, and energy use monthly, with a focus on continuous improvement.
-
